Capture Leads with Presentations on SlideShare

Posted by admin on 29 Oct 2009 | Tagged as: Marketing, Presentations, SlideShare, investor relations

Earlier this month SlideShare announced “SlideShare Business“, a new section with two paid services: LeadShare and AdShare. I’m going to focus on LeadShare.

I’m confident that many investor relations practioners have been reluctant to utilize many of the tools/outlets available in Web 2.0 because they don’t see the value.  The value is ‘essentially’ the delivery of information.

The LeadShare option is one addition that I believe might be of great interest to any company and/or agency by collecting contact information on documents and presentations uploaded to SlideShare. Did you know that you can upload PDF documents to SlideShare? Consider uploading your corporate brochure or executive profile.

Here’s the best part of LeadShare, a self-serving tool to create and customize the contact form. Fees range from $1-$22 US based on the number of fields and customization. The contact form is placed at the end of the document and participation is voluntary. Fees are assessed when a visitors “submits” his/her information.

SlideShare overview:

  • Upload documents and presentations
  • Investor Relations category
  • 20 Million visitors/month
  • Embed on websites and blogs (plugins for LinkedIn, Facebook, Wordpress, etc.)

This is powerful stuff when you consider that a company can convert its digital assets into lead generators by leveraging its own white papers, annual reports, fact sheets and presentations.

Here a just a few of the companies I spotted in the IR category: Yahoo, Steelcase, IBM, Rio Tinto, Chevron and Johnson & Johnson.

Great post Joann! Keep these posts coming and i will try to do the same. Sooner or later more people will get the value of social media for IR and see SlideShare as a very powerful tool. Here’s my latest IR Matters post on the subject: http://bit.ly/3VS71C
